Among the reasons that can contribute to changes in skin tone are factors related to age, alterations in the levels of certain hormones such as insulin, changes associated with pregnancy, frequent use of a bicycle, sports such as horse riding, regular use of tight-fitting clothes, as well as a general individual disposition to skin pigmentation disorders where specific risk factors have not been identified.
So called genital whitening seeks to correct this excess colouring by adjusting the tone of the skin so it blends in with the rest of the body according to race.
On average around 3 sessions are required, although this can vary on a case-by-case basis, with each treatment lasting around 30 minutes, repeated at 1-month intervals until the proposed treatment cycle is complete.
The patient will first need to be evaluated to investigate possible hormonal causes which, if left untreated, would compromise the effectiveness and lasting effects of the treatment.
